Can Collated Drywall Screw Strips be Reused?

Can Collated Drywall Screw Strips be Reused? Manufacturer’s Testing Result

We are a professional manufacturer of collated screw assembly machines. Oe common question we hear is:

collated screw plastic strips

Q: Can the plastic collated drywall screw strips be reused after use?

A: Based on our internal testing, the answer is no.

Collated screw strips are made of polyethylene (PE) material and are designed for single-use only. After being used in a screw gun, the strip typically becomes deformed, stretched, or broken. Attempting to reuse them may cause:

  • Jamming inside the screw gun
  • Screws misfiring or not feeding properly
  • Reduced work efficiency
  • Potential damage to the tool

For optimal performance and tool safety, we strongly recommend using new, high-quality strips for each operation.
